Hatred ...

I wanted to cover something about orkut before this blog, but somehow this topic got more attention. I was browsing through various communities on Orkut and surprisingly there was equal number of communities dedicated to the hatred .. "I hate ....." and "I love .....". It's not just about the names of the communities, but even in any community discussion, you can find people displaying their hatred and unfortunately justifying or taking pride in that.

Hatred is such a malicious thing that it eats up all your energy in something that's not really worth. Instead one can utilize the same in other direction - towards the things that you love. I can understand dislike. You may not like each and every thing in this beautiful world. But hatred.. that something make me sad.

It's not just on orkut, it's everywhere around you. If you take up any of the daily soap operas, you would find only conspiracy, hatred, treachery, betrayal. What kind of message is getting spread across? What is the effect on next generation? The kids of age 8-12 years - are they smart enough to understand what is good and what is bad? If they are being bombarded only by things full of such hatred, wouldn't they behave similarly? Do we really want that?

What is "B A Y"?

Weekend time. I was playing with Mrunmay, one of his games - 3 letter words. Basically there are some paper strips having one letter printed on it and then there's a letter dispenser, which dispenses 2 letters at a time. The game is to make up a word with those two letters and one of the paper strips. It's too early for Mrunmay to know the spellings and obviously the job of finding out matching spellings was with me. After every round, I was telling him the meaning of the word formed, in the form of question / answers. Twiki to Notion

I recently got started on Notion, primarily as part of my new project. I had seen the Notion used by one of my earlier customers but wasn't impressed by what I had seen. However, I had been hearing quite a few things about this on Twitter. And it constantly intrigued me as to why people are so ga ga over it.  I had been dabbling between Google Docs and MS OneNote for quite some time. Used docs when I had to write structured content, such as an idea, feature or some strategy. And when there was time to simply jot down some points or take notes from meetings or while reading books, I resorted to MS OneNote for its ability to create unstructured and structured content both. However, I was still feeling handicapped. The "organized" person in me was wanting more. So finally decided to learn more about "Notion". I took a different route this time.
